Practice Interests

illiam L. Williams has engaged in the practice of law in North King County since 1953. His practice emphasizes real estate law, including the purchase and sale of commercial real estate, commercial leases and condemnation actions. Mr. Williams has considerable litigation experience, including approximately 250 jury trials. He has appeared as counsel of record on numerous decisions before the Supreme Court of the State of Washington.

Professional Achievements

Litigation

Eichner v. Dorsten, 59 Wn. 2d 728 (1962). This case defined "gross negligence" under the 1957 Host-Guest law as "want of slight care."

Paduano v. Boespflug Construction, 66 Wn. 2d. 527 (1965). This case established guidelines for determining damages due in a breach of a construction contract.

Massey v. Tube Art, 15 Wn. App. 782 (1976). Established the right to substantial damages for loss of personal property even though no precise method for fixing damages, such as market value, was available.

Speaker

Speaker on Condemnation Practice and Procedure, Continuing Legal Education Committee, Washington State Bar Association Olympia, Pasco, Spokane and Seattle, 1978. First legal seminar ever offered in Washington on the topic of condemnation.
